The Kiama Regional Wine Show (KRWS) is an annual event held with a panel of internationally experienced wine judges and local associate judges. Wines from the Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and surrounding regions are tasted, judged and assessed.
Feedback from the judges is given to winemakers at a closed tasting session where the wines’ qualities are discussed and professional advice given for any improvement. This helps raise the standard of wines produced in the area.
The wineries are brought to the people via the Public Tasting and Awards Presentation which takes place on Friday evening from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. This is a unique opportunity for people interested in wine to taste up to 140 local wines from over 20 wineries. You must be 18 years or over to attend. Tickets are on sale at the Kiama Visitors Centre, Blowhole Point Road and cost $25 each.
Kiama Regional Wine Show is a Winner of the Illawarra Tourism Award for Best Festival or Event. This category is open to any festival or event (including any sporting event) that creates substantial economic impact within the local community, attracts visitors to the Region, generates media profile, and positively promotes the destination.
